Saga has successfully raised $3.6 million in a seed funding round led by Animoca Brands. With participation by Delta Blockchain Fund, Genblock Capital, Moonchain Capital, Compute Ventures, NGC Ventures, Highstreet Ventures, M31 Capital, TsingTing Capital, Metal VC, PANONY, Rainmaker Games, Everest Ventures Group, vEmpire, SL2 Capital, and AAG Ventures.
Saga has stated that the funding will go towards their latest endeavor, Soulbound. Saga builds middleware for the metaverse to empower players and help web3 gamers organize and thrive within their favorite games. Soulbound is their most recent work of “metaverse middleware” that wants to unite players across multiple games and allow users to create their own “digital fingerprint”.
Saga describes itself as a decentralized gaming community with a focus on expanding and enriching the metaverse through building a chain-agnostic market tooling. They plan to action this tooling system by supporting emerging projects and unlocking the capability of the metaverse for owners, builders, and players. They also aim to incorporate cross-game non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which will authenticate unique digital items using the blockchain.
Phantom Galaxies and Highstreet are two early adopters and examples of Soulbound’s protocol.
