Hypemasters is a video game developer founded in 2019 by Boris Kalmykov. Notably, Boris previously worked at Facebook and Unity. The company has previously raised $4 million and the team comes from diverse backgrounds, including Playrix, Wargaming, My.Games and Game Insight.
The CEO just announced on Twitter that they have successfully raised an additional $3.25 million in a funding round led by GEM Capital and The Games Fund (TGF). With participation from the Turkish VC fund Ludus. Apparently, $2 million came from GEM Capital, $1 million came from The Games Fund and $250,000 from Ludus.
The funding will go towards building out its mobile real-time strategy game “World War Armies”. Hypemasters describes the game as an ambitious competitive multiplayer RTS set during World War II. The game is currently in open beta and scheduled to be released worldwide this summer, 2022.
