Sky Mavis is the creator of the well-known play-to-earn web3 game Axie Infinity. They just confirmed on Twitter that they will be reimbursing victims of the Ronin bridge hack. Sky Mavis also noted that they are still on track to reopen the bridge this coming week.
In March of this year, hackers stole around $620 million in an infamous crypto heist. This apparently included roughly 17,600 Ether (ETH) and 25.5 million USD Coin (USDC) tokens. According to a recent Twitter thread by Sky Mavis, once the Ronin bridge reopens this week users will be able to withdraw one ETH for each one they possessed before the attack (as a form of reimbursement).
In April of this year, Sky Mavis closed a $150 million funding round led by Binance to refund the hack victims. Animoca Brands,16z, Dialectic, Paradigm, and Accel were among the investors that participated in the round.
