Game developer Crypthulhu Studios has just announced the close of a new round of funding, raising $3 million dollars. The round was led by venture capital firms Coatue and Dapper Labs. This investment will fund the launch of the studio’s first title: Dimension X.
Dimension X will be a free-to-play, play-to-earn strategic role-playing game built on the Flow blockchain. The narrative is set in the “Dimension X comic book universe”, where a pan-dimensional explosion created super-powered humans, aliens, and monsters with “radical and terrifying superpowers”.
Players can use NFT heroes to fight villains and monsters, level up, and support their factions in an ever-evolving web3 ecosystem. Users can create “super-teams” and compete with other players in PvP-style gameplay where individuals can compete for P2E tokens that can be used to mint new NFT heroes.
Crypthulhu Studios describes itself as “an innovative web3 NFT game studio”. Their aim is to “bring joy and novel experiences to gamers with unique blockchain games and NFTs, which users can buy, play, and interact with other players in the ecosystem”.
