OpenSea is a very well-known and popular peer-to-peer marketplace for crypto collectibles and non-fungible tokens. It includes collectibles, gaming items, and other virtual goods backed by a blockchain. On OpenSea, anyone can buy or sell these items through a smart contract.
OpenSea have said that incorporating a new Launchpad feature will help support everything that goes into establishing an NFT project like minting contracts, whitelist management, marketplace support, and a host of services around marketing. Exchanges like Magic Eden, and now OpenSea, mainly offer these services as a way to draw collections over to their platform.
OpenSea announced that they have partnered with NFT collection Zoonies to debut its new Launchpad experience. The original June 29th release has been rescheduled to mid-July according to a Twitter post.
Zoonies are developing an alien-themed ecosystem – their entire branding revolves around cute, but mutant aliens called Zoonies. The alien-themed Planet Zoon Ecosystem will contain the following components:
Staking
- Zoonies NFTs will be possible to stake and earn $POTION token. Some Zoonies may generate more $POTION than others, depending on rarity.
Games: Mutant Roulette and Slot Machine
- Zoonies holders will be able to use their $POTION token to enter games and earn rewards. The first game, the mutant roulette will work based on roulette mechanics, player vs. the house. Players will have to pay $POTION to play the Mutant Roulette.
