Playboy has officially revealed plans to build a Playboy Mansion in the metaverse. This won’t be the company’s first experience in web3 – as it has previously dropped two NFT collections. Last spring, the company dropped Its first-ever NFT collection titled “Liquid Summer”, created in collaboration with Slimesunday. Featuring collage art that was “on-brand” for Playboy, the collection sold out in three minutes. Following the success of its first collection, the company dropped a second NFT collection in October, titled “Rabbitars” – a collection of 11,953 3D rabbits inspired by the iconic Playboy Bunny.
Now the “MetaMansion” is coming to one of the most innovative virtual worlds in the metaverse: The Sandbox. They are creating an immersive and socially interactive game, programmed events, NFT releases, and more. The “MetaMansion” experience will be inspired by 70 years of Playboy lifestyle, famous events, and experiences at the historic Playboy Mansion – as well as their content library and art collection. “Rabbitars” NFT holders will apparently have special VIP access to experiences, games, giveaways, and more.
