Immortal Games is a blockchain-based free-to-play “play-to-earn” chess game that utilizes NFT chess pieces. The platform has its own in-game marketplace where players can buy and sell their NFTs. There is an upcoming mint this July 20th. They just announced that the web3 game will be coming to the new GameStop NFT marketplace “soon”.
The Immortal Game team is based in France, they have partnered with french grandmaster and current world blitz chess champion Maxime Vachier-Lagrave. MVL is involved as an ambassador and advisor to the team – the CEO is Thomas Zaepffel.
Immortal Games says it was designed for “chess lovers” but with the aim of bringing the legendary game of chess to the blockchain. For the developers of Immortal Games, web3 gamification and social engagement through NFTs is the core vision for the project.
The native token of the Immortal Game ecosystem is the $IGE token. This token is earned by the best players every season and they can either stake them or use them to unlock specific powers in the game.
