The sales were said to help finance its growing crypto and web3 gaming industry endeavors. Now the famous Japanese publisher Square Enix has announced a new partnership with blockchain gaming firm Enjin to release NFTs based on the Final Fantasy franchise. The Polkadot-based NFTs will be paired with physical trading cards and toys, which will be released in 2023. The physical action figures and trading cards will be based on the role-playing game (RPG) Final Fantasy VII. This is supposed to coincide with the commemoration of the original PlayStation game’s 25th anniversary.
