New development studio Brass Token is attempting to break into that market with its inaugural title — an atmospheric horror title called The Chant. Brass Token describes The Chant as a “third-person horror action-adventure” game. Playing as Jess Briar, a traumatized young woman looking for some kind of guidance in her life, she finds herself at Prismic Science Spiritual Retreat on a remote island. A ritual goes wrong, as they do, and gamers must survive against an onslaught of “psychedelic” cosmic horrors.

THQ Nordic officially revealed the trailer for Alone in the Dark, a “reimagining” of the 1992 horror game. There is no launch date as of yet, but the game is being made for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The new title is set in the 1920s in the American South and has a very Southern Gothic aesthetic. As with the original Alone in the Dark, players have their choice of two characters: Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby. The two go to explore the manor Derceto, where they find several nasty monsters waiting for them. Alone in the Dark is one of the oldest survival horror series, predating the likes of Resident Evil.
