Animoca Brands acquired 100% of Australian indie game developer Blowfish Studios for $6.6 million dollars. Blowfish Studios is an award-winning independent Sydney-based developer and publisher of high-quality multi-platform games, including Qbism, Siegecraft, Morphite, Projection: First Light, and Storm Boy.
The duo recently closed their Private Planet Sale for the upcoming blockchain game: Phantom Galaxies. Animoca Brands and Blowfish Studios reported that 7,734 Planets and Asteroids (“Planets”) were sold for a total of $19.3 million dollars.
Phantom Galaxies is an open-world combat game, currently in Alpha. The game is said to be one of the first blockchain-based AAA game titles to launch with broad appeal to both traditional web2 gaming enthusiasts and web3 natives.
