MetaKing Studios recently announced on Twitter that they successfully raised another $15 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by Makers Fund and Bitkraft Ventures, with participation from Delphi Digital, Animoca Brands, Shima Capital, WW Ventures, Spartan Group, and Huobi Ventures. The game studio stated that the funding will go towards their first blockchain-based massively multiplayer online game Blocklords.
MetaKing Studios also announced a new strategic partnership between Blocklords and Atestis Capital. Atestis Capital is an Australian-based digital asset investment firm focusing on innovative startups.
Blocklords is described as a medieval strategy MMO that weaves world-building with real-time battles, deep historical fantasy lore, and a detailed lineage system. It is built upon a “player-driven narrative”.
Blocklords noted yesterday that they are still open for pre-registration for their early access period. Those who sign up in the pre-registration period can apparently claim a hero free of charge. Along with this Twitter post, BlockLords debuted its Official Cinematic Trailer on GameStops NFT Marketplace.
