Lacoste collaborated with Minecraft earlier this year to create both real life clothes and in-game skins. The well known fashion label is now launching its next web3 experience. This project is called UNDW3, pronounced underwater.
Last week, Lacoste dropped a collection of 11,212 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its dedicated site. The total number of NFTs refers to Lacoste founder René Lacoste’s L1212 polo shirt, which he designed in 1933. NFT owners will be granted access to the brand’s web3 universe, digital, physical and experiential benefits as well as co-designed products.
UNDW3 is described as a project that will allow “community members to experience collaborative fashion in a new creative way”. Moreover, Lacoste state that the UNDW3 experience will evolve over time alongside contributions from community members.
The roadmap for the project is said to be revealed soon – with the team hinting entry to the Metaverse in near future.
