Award-winning rappers Eminem and Snoop Dogg just released a new collaborative single called “From the D 2 the LBC”. The music video features Eminem and Snoop Dog transforming into Bored Ape comic avatars. The two music icons appeared at the NFT-NYC event ApeFest to debut the music video.
Hip-Hop icon and top NFT influencer Snoop Dogg (aka Cozomo de’ Medici) has a strong presence in the NFT space. Snoop has an ongoing partnership with metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox. Together they created “The Snoopverse” as well as the Snoop Dogg Avatar NFT collection called “Doggies”. The avatars grant holders access to virtual events and concerts, and lets them play games. Apparently the project has generated over $1.7 million at the time of writing.
Moreover, last month Snoop Dogg sold over $44 million worth of “Stash Box” NFTs for his new album B.O.D.R. This project sold out in under a week after releasing 10,000 of the limited edition NFTs via the Gala Music gaming platform.
Lastly, he recently announced plans to open a BAYC NFT-themed restaurant in Los Angeles with his son Cordell Broadus (aka Champ de’ Medici). The “Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration” restaurant, will be an “immersive retail dessert experience”, setup under the FFU umbrella.
On the other hand, Eminem is new to the space only having just discovered BAYC NFTs. Recently purchasing the Ape #9055 at 123.45 Ether (worth $453k at the time of purchase).
