Earth From Another Sun (EFAS) recently raised $4.5 million in a funding round to develop its web3 space conquest game. The funding came from Solana Ventures, Alameda Research, and Lightspeed. “A Quest For Gold” (Early Access) is now live on Fractal!
EFAS describes the game as an action-packed first-person shooter experience in a multiplayer “living, breathing galaxy” with 1,000-troop armies fighting on a battlefield. Players will be able to travel to the stars, trade and mine resources, craft ships and modules, and work together to build an ever-expanding universe.
EFAS players can collaborate to iterate upon their in-game experience or design their own art assets from scratch. Moreover, EFAS plans to use a “live service” model. This means the game is constantly evolving. New updates will introduce equipment, loot, enemies, quests, and NPCs to bring an ever-fuller experience.
EFAS apparently already has over ten thousand paying players after three and a half years of development. EFAS is built by a team of game veterans from the likes of Riot Games, Gameloft, Disney Interactive, Kylotonn, IGG, and Perfect World.
