Nickelodeon created an official Twitter account for their upcoming NFT collection last month. The Nickelodeon NFTs dropped this week – July 18th for whitelisted users and July 19th for the public. Recur is collaborating with Nickelodeon on the project and running its own Discord server for community members.
Recur is a technology company that designs & develops dedicated branded experiences that allow fans to buy, collect, and re-sell digital products and collectibles (NFTs). Some of their recent projects include NFT collections for big names such as Hello Kitty, Carebears, Paramount, Star Trek Continuum, and Top Gun: Maverick.
The initial public drop consisted of one-of-one PFP NFTs featuring characters from two of the most iconic cartoons of the 90s: Rugrats and Hey Arnold! Additionally, Steve Aoki has created remixes of music from the two cartoons, which will be used to launch an upcoming ‘mashup’ program that will allow collectors to combine traits from the characters to create new unique collectibles.
It is interesting to see more big names and IPs breaking into the world of web3. Hinting at the increased rate of mass adoption, and helping to transition mainstream web2 platforms to web3. Moreover, it certainly would be fascinating to see big IPs like this break into the web3 gaming space.
What are your thoughts on Nickelodeon using IP to make web3 games?
