Founded in 2016, Singapore-based game development studio, Mighty Bear Games recently announced on Twitter they raised $10 million in a new funding round. Framework Ventures led the round with participation from Mirana, Sfermion, Dune Ventures, Sanctor Capital, Folius Ventures, Polygon, Play Future Fund, Everblue, Ancient8, Ready Player DAO, Racer Avocado DAO, and DWeb3. The CEO, Simon Davis, stated that the funds will be used to accelerate the game-based firm’s growth and expand its operations.
Mighty Bear Games is building next-generation mobile-first games. Along with the raise they also just announced a new web3 game called Mighty Action Heroes. The game will be powered by polygon and will receive support from Polygon Studios in form of funding, marketing, technical advice, strategy, and ecosystem basis.
Mighty Action Heroes is described as a multiplayer third-person battle royale that “puts an emphasis on fun, skill, and chaos”. The CEO, Simon Davis, just revealed they will be giving out free “MightyNet Genesis Pass” NFTs. The NFTs will be available to 25,000 people who have crypto wallets and are on Mighty Bear’s “allowlist.” That list has apparently been curated to include long-term holders of NFTs from at least two pioneer collections in the NFT gaming space.
