Rocket Entertainment, Sir Elton John, Roblox community builders, and Universal Music Group are all working together to launch “Beyond the Yellow Brick Road” on the Roblox platform. The metaverse experience features interactive challenges set to John’s greatest hit songs, daily scavenger hunts, and trivia quizzes. The experience is to honor his last time on tour.
There will be a digital fashion collection inspired by John’s most celebrated outfits. According to a press release, “fans can try on complete outfits or mix-and-match individual items to recreate Elton’s look on their avatar.”
“Beyond The Yellow Brick Road” will also host a special Elton John virtual performance. Premiering November 17th and repeating every hour until November 20th, the ten-minute gig will feature John’s “best-loved songs”.
Virtual visitors can apparently earn gold bricks, the currency for “Beyond the Yellow Brick Road”. The bricks will provide exclusive VIP access, including a special message from Sir Elton John and a chance for their avatar to be on stage with him for his final night in Dodgers stadium.
