Chris Wanstrath, one of the co-creator of GitHub, reveals a new publishing studio called Null Games. Null Games also announced the release date of its first title, a hockey-based rogue-lite called “Tape to Tape” from developer Excellent Rectangle. Coming to Steam in April, “Tape to Tape” is inspired by classics such as Mutant League Hockey, Super Baseball 2020, and NBA Jam.
Null is a developer-friendly publisher of indie games for PC, Mac, and consoles. The website says they are part of a new wave of indie game publishers that “put developers first”.
Null was created by Chris Wanstrath, co-founder of GitHub. Created in 2007 as a side project, GitHub has grown into the world’s largest developer platform with over 100 million users. Chris served as GitHub’s first CEO from 2007 to 2012, then again from 2013 until Microsoft acquired the company in 2018.
