Atari has entered an agreement to acquire Night Dive Studios according to CEO Stephen Kick.
Atari is the well-known interactive entertainment production company that manages an intellectual property portfolio focused on the Atari brand, Atari Classics games, and intellectual property assets and licenses such as RollerCoaster Tycoon.
Pioneer in video games, founded in 1972, Atari owns and manages a portfolio of more than 200 games and franchises, including world-famous brands like Asteroids®, Centipede®, Missile Command®, or Pong® and manages RollerCoaster Tycoon under license. Beyond video games, Atari’s core businesses include consumer hardware, licensing, and blockchain. Atari’s CEO is Wade Rosen.
Nightdive was founded in 2012 by former Sony Online Entertainment artist Stephen Kick. Since its inception, the studio has specialized in remastering old games and making them playable again on modern systems, with enhanced resolutions and frame rates.
