Cathedral Studios is developing the upcoming web3 first-person shooter horror-themed game: The Bornless. The game is being created by Cathedral Studio’s founders Toby Saunders (currently CEO) and Jackson Nexhip (currently COO). They started working on The Bornless in July of 2021 and it is currently open for early access via their Discord.
The Bornless is described as an original first-person shooter horror game with both player-versus-player and player-versus-environment modes. During gameplay, players face off against each other in a 2v2v2v2 lobby with the devil, “Orobas”. The goal is to amass a large supply of “incense” and “sacrifice” it while simultaneously hindering the efforts of other players to achieve their own victory.
Ava Labs also says it is planning to add “subnet” deployment, a network within a network, to the AWS Marketplace, enabling both individuals and institutions to easily launch custom subnets. Although the partnership with Ava Labs is AWS’ first partnership with a blockchain project, several other blockchains, including Ethereum and other smaller ones, already use AWS to power their networks.
Emin Gün Sirer, founder and CEO of Ava Labs, stated:
“It has been a huge boon for both individual and enterprise developers to be able to spin up nodes and test networks on the fly with AWS in whatever legal jurisdiction makes the most sense for them.”
The founder, Sharon Tal Yguado, has a wealth of experience in the entertainment industry. She has previously held positions as Head of Genre Programming at Amazon Studios and Head of Fox International Studios at Fox Networks Group.
Astrid Entertainment says it is planning on bringing together “accomplished and noteworthy worldbuilders to craft fantastical living worlds. These worlds will be used to inspire positive, community-focused play. Each of these worlds will hopefully, with time, grow into large universes across different mediums”.
Riot already uses AWS’ services across its games to focus on how it designs and deploys content to help provide the best possible game experience. Now Riot is going to use AWS to enhance its esports broadcasts throughout each competitive season for LoL Esports, the Valorant Champions Tour, and Wild Rift Esports.
The goal is to be able to provide in-depth statistics similar to major sports leagues. The two companies will be introducing ‘Stats powered by AWS’ during esports broadcasts. These relevant statistics will appear before, during, and after Riot’s global esports broadcasts. Ideally including these stats will educate and inform fans about key data points that are pushing teams towards wins.
