This announcement follows Burberry’s partnership with Mythical Games in 2021 with the launch of a non-fungible token (NFT) collection within Blankos Block Party. Burberry was the first luxury brand to feature in the title, paving the way for digital ownership in gaming. After a sell-out launch last summer, Burberry introduced last month a new character, new accessories and a branded virtual world inside the playful NFT-based game.
Burberry is continuing to deepen its partnership with Mythical Games’s Blankos Block Party, by building a branded virtual world, adding more characters and releasing virtual accessories in the blockchain-based game. Just yesterday Mythical Games announced new features to the continued partnership with Burberry with a new live event in addition to the Burberry Oasis and recent Minny B drop.

Recently, Gucci announced that it would begin permitting crypto payments online and at five in-store locations. They currently accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Shiba Inu as payment for luxury purchases.
This news is another exemplary application of mainstream adoption of web3 into luxury fashion. To name a few examples: Balenciaga, Gucci, Nike, DOLCE&GABBANA, and Burberry have all launched NFT collections and metaverse pop-ups.
