Messari announced the news at its annual Mainnet conference in New York City this week. They noted the new capital will be used to expand its team and develop two new products – Protocol Metrics and Data Apps.
Messari co-founder and CEO, Ryan Selkis stated: “This new funding will help us grow our team, expand internationally, and invest in new data offerings and tools that complete our market-leading product suite.”
Messari also raised $21 million in a seed round back in August 2021. That round was led by hedge fund billionaire Steve Cohen’s Point72 Ventures. The round was raised at a post-money valuation of $100 million, according to a report previously covered by RE3W and GFPs.

Messari founder and CEO Ryan Selkis stated: “We’ve scaled to 130 people on zero net-operating burn, had a record July, and are hiring $35 million worth of developers to help bring transparency and an institutional-grade data tool to the crypto market”.
Last week, the firm acquired crypto fundraising data provider Dove Metrics for an undisclosed amount. RE3W and GFPs covered this in a previous news post.
Dove Metrics tracks crypto-funding rounds and the investments of venture capital firms, hedge funds, and investment decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). The company was founded by Regan Bozman and Pierre Chuzeville, who also led the early-stage crypto VC fund Lattice.
Ryan Selkis said the acquisition of Dove Metrics will hopefully “enable Messari to offer new datasets and tools that further allow our users to stay on top of industry trends and monitor, in real-time, the top projects and technologies that investors are backing”.
