Darewise Entertainment Play-To-Earn MMO Life Beyond Has Upcoming Limited Edition Agent Zero Jacket

Earlier this year Animoca Brands acquired 70% of Darewise Entertainment, an indie game company. Darewise Entertainment is the web3 game studio creating “Life Beyond” – a socio-tech metaverse within a play-to-earn MMO title.

They recently announced a new partnership with the leading concept art developer and publisher of iconic NFTs for video game art – Concept Art House. As part of the partnership, the two companies are working closely in order to create an NFT collection, with deeper game utility for Life Beyond.

Darewise Entertainment also recently released a new trailer for Life Beyond (previously called Project C), showing off a first glance at the gameplay to come. Life Beyond is hoping to be a triple-A video game, which leverages web3 and Unreal Engine 5. Described as a F2P, massively multiplayer experience, new players will be tasked with exploring an alien world, and battling enemy forces while building a new society.

After a bit of a delay, the mint for the Agent Zero Jacket has arrived in Life Beyond. This is a special, limited edition NFT that promises perks both in and out of the game. Life Beyond delayed the initially planned mint for their Agent Zero Jacket after the FTX collapse.

Coral, A Solana-Based Developer Has Raised $20M In Strategic Funding Round

Solana-based developer Coral has raised $20 million in a strategic funding round co-led by the venture capital arm of FTX and Jump Crypto. Other participants in the round included Multicoin Capital, Anagram, and K5 Global, among others. The capital will go toward building out the first flagship product, Backpack, a wallet for executable non-fungible tokens (xNFT).

NFTs are typically digital assets such as an image or song where an underlying smart contract proves the uniqueness of that asset. With xNFTs, the user owns the right to execute some type of tokenized computer code – essentially, the user owns the right to launch an application. The ability to launch multiple types of apps in one place could simplify onboarding, a common pain point in the crypto industry.

Backpack’s private Beta launched on September 26th. About 10 of the largest projects on Solana already have projects in development using Backpack’s xNFT technology, including NFT marketplace Magic Eden, cross-chain bridge Wormhole, decentralized finance protocol Solend, and the developer framework Anchor, which Coral also created.

Solana Ventures and The Solana Foundation Launch A $100 Million Investment Fund For Web3 Gaming

Solana Ventures and the Solana Foundation have formed a $100 million fund to help support the growth of nonfungible token (NFT), blockchain gaming, and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects in South Korea. South Korea is expected to become a hotspot of NFT and metaverse development this decade. Their government pledged $187 million to build its metaverse ecosystem. Moreover, South Korea’s gaming sector was valued at $15 billion in 2021.

Solana Ventures launched a similar $100 million gaming fund with crypto exchange FTX and Lightspeed Ventures last November 2021. It also has a $150 million fund with web3 gaming-focused firms Forte and Griffin Gaming Partners. Their newest investment and grant fund is going to help solidify Solana’s goal of becoming an ideal blockchain for web3 gaming.
