Summon is a gamified community management protocol that rewards decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) members and web3 communities for their contributions. The Unreal Engine Github Plugin (Web3.Unreal) by Game7 is coming to the web3 gaming space in 2023. This is a milestone integration that will allow blockchain developers to seamlessly utilize Unreal for web3 games. Not only that, but the plugin is free to the gaming community, in keeping with Game7’s focus on accelerating the development of open-source games.

The web3 Unreal plugin is an open-source integration for gamers in the web3 industry. The plugin will apparently allow developers to utilize blockchain functionality inside of Unreal Engine, which previously was time prohibitive.

The HyperPlay game launcher that Game7 is releasing in early 2023 is also compatible with the Web3.Unreal plugin. With the plugin, developers have an easier way of allowing players to check how many NFTs or tokens they have earned.

In his new role, Chris Akhavan will apparently help drive the growth of Magic Eden’s gaming partnership and support the development of advanced game creator and collector experiences. Chris Akhavan is an industry veteran who has held a variety of roles including Chief Revenue Officer at Glu Mobile. Prior to Glu, Chris Akhavan also served as an early employee at Tapjoy, which created a platform used by many free-to-play games and reached over a billion mobile devices. He gained web3 experience while serving as CBO of Forte and as a part of Game7.

Game7 announces a $100 million grant program to help accelerate blockchain-enabled games.

Game7 describes itself as a web gaming-focused decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). The Game7 DAO’s treasury includes $500 million committed by the high-profile decentralized autonomous organization BitDAO and blockchain game platform Forte.

The grants will be deployed over five years at $20 million per year to projects across five categories, technology, events, diversity, education, and research. The cross-chain program has support from the Polygon, Solana, Immutable, and Arbitrum blockchain ecosystems with plans for further expansion over the coming months.

Game7 core contributor Ronen Kirsh stated:

“Improving smart contract standards, tooling, interoperable wallets, and scaling solutions will be crucial on the path to global adoption of Web3 games. Metamask reveals two new partnerships, one with HyperPlay Gaming and the other with NFTBank.

The partnership with gaming developer Game7 is set to introduce HyperPlay, a web3 native game launcher. The arrangement between MetaMask and Game7, a blockchain-based gaming DAO, aims to encourage developers to build crypto-native games on HyperPlay. Users of any HyperPlay game will soon be able to carry in-game NFTs, tokens, and achievements in their MetaMask wallets, enabling interoperability between different titles.

Metamask also revealed it is launching an NFT portfolio tracking feature in partnership with NFTBank. The new utility will apparently allow users to easily track their NFT portfolio’s value. NFTBank is a portfolio management tool and valuation engine for NFTs, founded by Daniel Minsu Kim in 2015. They’re already the NFT valuation solution for other major projects like Chainlink, NFTfi, Pine, Stater, and Unlockd Finance. The company is also backed by Hashed, DCG, 1k(x), and other investors.
