Kieran Warwick, the co-founder of blockchain gaming studio Illuvium, announced yesterday that they have raised an additional $10 million in funding from Framework Ventures via a token sale. The tokens involved in the fundraising will apparently be locked for two years and won’t be staked, thus won’t receive revenue distributions.

Kieran Warwick said the funds raised will be used to accelerate Illuvium’s development and support the distributed group of contributors. Illuvium will soon launch an AAA gaming universe with three games, Illuvium: Zero, Illuvium: Overworld, and Illuvium: Arena.

Illuvium recently revealed a new NFT collection called Illuvium: Beyond in partnership with Immutable X – which launched on March 7th. Illuvium was awarded the #1 spot in Coin Telegraph’s “Top 20 Blockchain Games Research Report”. Last week the Illuvium: Overworld Private Beta 2 launched with 28 new Illuvials, and updated gameplay mechanics.

Quick facts: Illuvium is a blockchain-based game that employs a play-to-earn (P2E) mechanism. It was created on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain and can be accessed by both Mac and PC. The game enables players to explore an open world, collect NFTs, and participate in an auto battler.

Zero is a building game where players can develop and manage their “digital industrial complex.” Among the features, land NFT holders will be able to earn from their NFTs by extracting fuel and selling it on the game’s marketplace. Built using Unreal Engine 5 on ImmutableX’s blockchain, Australia-based Illuvium wants to build a product capable of competing with non-blockchain games.
