Ledger has partnered with The Sandbox to create the “Ledgerverse” that will help educate people about crypto security and learn how to protect wallets in this era of frequent crypto hacks and breaches. The project is Ledger’s first metaverse initiative that will be co-created by The Sandbox and Swipe Back, a metaverse creative agency.

In addition, this collaboration will include a game called “The School of Block” in The Sandbox, which aims to make people aware of the threats in the crypto world. Players will fight hackers and scammers to win exclusive NFT rewards and $SAND.

Ledger was launched in 2014 by eight individuals with backgrounds in security, cryptocurrencies, and entrepreneurship. The founders were all united around the idea of creating secure solutions for blockchain applications. To that end, they have developed a distinctive operating system (OS) called BOLOS, which they integrate either to a secure chip for the Ledger wallet line or to a Hardware Security Module (HSM) for various enterprise solutions.

They aim to secure the new disruptive class of crypto assets: Financial assets like cryptocurrencies or Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), Data assets like sensors, Internet of Things (IoT) devices or machine-to-machine, and Digital identities like second-factor authentication or passwordless login.

Ledger recently announced they are seeking an additional $100 million following its $380 million Series C funding round last year. The new funding will give the firm a higher valuation than the $1.5 billion it received in June 2021.
