Loco’s users will also be able to freely trade Loco Legends collectibles with other assets on Avalanche. Additionally, Loco will receive support from Ava Labs through the Multiverse incentive program, helping launch its collectibles marketplaces.
John Wu, president of Ava Labs, stated:
“Pioneers like Loco are breaking new ground with ways to use digital collectibles for both fan engagement and applications layered on top that was previously not possible.”
Loco stated in a press release that they want to “democratize gaming entertainment” in India and that this new platform will allow them to do that by letting users own and trade esports collectible assets. Moreover, Loco wants to utilize NFTs to authenticate unique digital items and strengthen communities and monetization between esports teams and their fans.
Loco Legends is launching in partnership with popular esports teams in India including 8bit, s0ul, Godlike, Revenant, Blind, and XO among others. These top Indian esports teams are category dominators in popular games like BGMI, FreeFire Max, and Valorant. Loco also said they have signed an exclusive partnership with major esports tournament organizers including Villager esports and Upthrust esports.
The first asset on Loco Legends will be NFT esports trading cards. This project will be NFTs and free-to-play esports fantasy gaming. Users will be able to purchase NFT trading cards which will allow them to buy and sell cards amongst the community and also participate in free-to-play fantasy pools. The NFTs will be limited in number and unique to each owner.
