Lympo is a subsidiary of Animoca Brands. They are building a GameFi product ecosystem based on the officially licensed athlete’s non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Lympo’s products include NFT Minting and NFT Staking Platforms – as well as the upcoming sports-themed play-to-earn games like basketball manager and chess.
The new partnership and project “Build Your Own Fighter with Thug Rose” is a Digisport collectible NFT that offers an “engaging collect-and-earn experience for sports fans”.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, said:
“The partnership with Rose Namajunas is a significant opportunity to introduce blockchain and NFTs to a global audience of sports enthusiasts. This collaboration showcases the fan engagement of Web3 and fosters a greater understanding of these emerging technologies among fans.”
Tadas Maurukas, the CEO and co-founder of Lympo, said:
“By combining the excitement of sports with Web3 technology, the collaboration with Thug Rose will revolutionize the way we engage with sports. We’re thrilled to provide a platform that enables fans to connect with their favorite athletes in a new and exciting way while also exploring the possibilities of blockchain.”
Now, Animoca Brands have just confirmed via their official Twitter account that the new web3 game is called Anichess. The tweet states that the upcoming game will be a “classic chess-inspired experience with a magical twist. Where players can discover new strategies, use magic powers to interact with the pieces, and reign supreme over their opponents.”
Anichess will utilize Lympo’s $SPORT token as its primary utility token, which will act as a gateway to the broader Lympo ecosystem, enhancing the playing experience and value proposition of the game.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, stated: “Chess has emerged as one of the fastest-growing esports. By partnering with Play Magnus Group to create Anichess we will create unparalleled experiences for chess players, casual gamers, and fans.”

Lympo just announced on Twitter that they are launching their newly updated NFT minting platform 2.0. They will be introducing changes in their ecosystem with the hopes of bringing improved features for their users.
With the introduction of the $SPORT token, the Lympo NFT Minting platform is undergoing significant changes and introducing new mechanics. They are launching a new rewards page, categorizing the Lympo NFTs into new collections, and releasing a new breed of NFTs.
They will also be releasing a new Lympo collection – Kahosa Life, consisting of 10,000 fantasy, sports, and manga-themed NFTs that unlock access to a DAO and additional assets in the upcoming Lympo gaming titles. The visuals will be based on sports-themed manga and they expect this collection to play a huge role in future Lympo development.

Lympo announced earlier this week the launch of its new $SPORT token, a new ERC-20 token, bridged to the Polygon Technology Network and BNB Chain. The token is supposedly going to add to the “enrichment” of Lympo’s GameFi ecosystem. Additionally, the $SPORT token will enable holders the ability to participate in Lympo’s treasury management governed by the principles of a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
There are plans to integrate the new $SPORT token into Lympo’s two upcoming web3 play-to-earn games. Both games will be launched in cooperation with Magnus Carlsen, the best chess player in the world, and his team.
Lympo’s blockchain-powered chess-inspired game will be released later this year in collaboration with the PMG’s Champions chess academy Tour and in partnership between Animoca Brands and Play Magnus Group (PMG).
