The first game to be released is called “What The Kart” and is said to be a spin on a traditional racing cart game. This release will apparently be followed by “Rugpull Guys” and another platform fighting game. Oh Baby Games plans to launch cross-game collectibles as part of its rollout strategy and launch these games in 2023. The Oh Baby Games team has worked on web2 games such as the Call of Duty franchise, League of Legends, and Magic: The Gathering.
Pas Tran, the founder of Oh Baby Games, stated:
“The Kart genre hasn’t innovated for decades. Equipment should matter. Custom garages to personalize and show off. Ghost battles against others. Player made bounties. The tracks should tell a story, not just be a continuous 3 lap loop all the time.”
Blockchain Capital led the round, with Merit Circle, Com2uS, Mysten Labs, Solana Ventures, Yield Guild Games, and Hustle Fund participating. The company plans to use the funding to build out more features for the platform, as well as new games. It also intends to offer its own web3 wallet to users, as well as ease onboarding for web2 users.
Gameplay Galaxy users will be able to earn money by competing in Trial Xtreme’s races and competitions, and will also be able to earn their own in-game assets, including NFTs. The creators also say that users who don’t wish to engage with these mechanics can enjoy the racing by itself.
