World-building metaverse game Paradise Tycoon launches the website for its Genesis Chest Mint. Players may now visit the site to check their eligibility to mint, as well as the whitelist tiers that they belong to. Users can immediately connect their wallets and start minting their Treasure Chest NFTs as soon as the countdown ends. Moreover, a small portion of the chests will be minted into the Paradise Tycoon treasury as well. In the coming months, the team will distribute the assets to the community as rewards and giveaways.

Paradise Tycoon only revealed their Genesis Chests just last month. Genesis Chests are a prelude to the Genesis Land mint, which will be launching later this year, where players will be able to convert their Paradise Coupons into land, upgrades, and buildings. Paradise Tycoon’s Alpha Snapshot 4 launched on Sunday, February 19th, bringing with it a range of new features and gameplay improvements.

Kingdomverse raises $3.6 million in funding and joins the Immutable X gaming ecosystem. Their first title, Defend the Kingdom, is described as a casual PVP TD game where players build teams to battle waves of enemies. The Open Alpha 2 has already reached a total of 12.4 thousand players. Kingdomverse says it wants to be the first “Mobile Games Metaverse”, an ecosystem of casual mobile games tied to a social hub for gamers to interact, battle, and play.

Neopets Meta Raised $4 Million In Funding Led By Polygon Ventures & Blizzard Avalanche Ecosystem Fund

The web3 spin-off of the classic virtual pet game Neopets raised $4 million in a new funding round. Participants in the round included: Polygon Ventures, Blizzard Avalanche Ecosystem Fund, Hashkey Capital, IDG Capital, and its parent company Chinese gaming firm NetDragon Websoft. Neopets Meta Chief Metaverse Officer is currently Dominic Law.

Neopets Meta launched the alpha version of its metaverse in August 2022. Several popular games were revamped for web3 including Turmac Roll, Meera Chase, and Ultimate Bullseye. It also recently rolled out Neopets Meta Alpha: Winter Edition, which features Neopia Central and Terror Mountain, two popular areas on the original Neopets game map, which is available to play until the end of the month.

Netmarble’s Metaverse World Chooses Mysten Labs as Blockchain Partner for Grand Cross: Metaworld

South Korean gaming giant NCSoft invested $15 million in Mysten Labs as part of a previously announced $300 million funding round. The money went toward fueling Mysten Labs’ plan to develop the Sui Layer 1 blockchain to serve as infrastructure for web3 games. Now Netmarble F&C subsidiary Metaverse World announced it is picking Mysten Labs to be the blockchain partner for Grand Cross: Metaworld.

Mysten Labs is a California-based web3 infrastructure company that launched the decentralized blockchain platform Sui in March of this year, 2022. Evan Cheng, currently Mysten Labs CEO, said they are hoping to “build a better blockchain” to improve scalability.

Grand Cross: Metaworld enables thousands of users to hang out together in various cities in an “open world” simultaneously. It has a distinct anime style, both for characters and its settings.

Grand Cross: Metaworld lets players design their own spaces, from actually creating a spot to decorating it. Gamers will apparently be able to use webcams and mobile cameras to customize their individual avatars.

The whole project uses Unreal for 4k graphics and is offering up 4K Anime V-Tubers. Currently it’s heading into a closed beta test scheduled for the first half of 2023, and aiming for a full release by the end of 2023.

For Playboy’s 69th birthday, the lifestyle brand, in collaboration with The Sandbox Metaverse, is releasing its first original NFT collection, The Playboy Party People. The collection of playable Avatars launched in two phases: on December 5th and then the public sale on December 6th.

Each Playboy Party People NFT was sold for 100 $SAND through Polygon on the Sandbox website – at the time of reporting. There are five rarity levels and ten one-of-ones, including common, rare, epic, legendary, and unique NFTs.

Partying in the Sandbox isn’t the only form of utility in the Playboy Party People (PPP) collection. Other than being a playable Avatar in The Sandbox, holding a PPP NFT unlocks several opportunities. Macy’s is launching their famous Thanksgiving Parade in the metaverse. The virtual experience is taking place in collaboration with the OnCyber metaverse and will feature artwork from five notable NFT Projects. Users will have the opportunity to earn free Macy’s NFTs. Players can access the Thanksgiving Parade metaverse experience on November 24th at 9 am EST. It will be available on Macy’s website.

Project Kepler Partners With Well-Known Immutable X To Build Its Membership-Based Metaverse

Project Kepler describes itself as a membership-based Metaverse, operating as a Closed-World P2E Planet with 10,000 land properties built on Unreal Engine 5. They just announced a partnership with the well-known Immutable X. Urav Shah is Co-CEO with Toms Cernavisks.

Project Kepler says they are aspiring to be the “leading private Metaverse in the web3 era by creating a photo-realistic environment where members can build, explore, and grow businesses and experiences”.

Project Kepler has apparently drawn their inspiration from NASA’s Kepler telescope deployed to space in 2009 to scout earth-like planets in the solar system. In Planet Kepler, users can “explore astronomical surprises with freedom of building, creating, and nurturing next-gen projects that defy all the conventional laws of Physics”. Their vision is to push “creativity and experiences beyond imaginable scopes”.
