Solana Is Opening Their Own Store In New York

A Solana-themed store, called “Solana Spaces”, is opening in New York City. It will be located in Hudson Yards and is being launched in collaboration with the Solana Foundation, the organization behind the blockchain network.

The store will apparently offer visitors NFT and Phantom wallet tutorials, as well as provide consumers with interactive art installation experiences. Solana-branded merchandise will apparently also be for sale. A few selected projects built on the Solana blockchain will be able to sell their merchandise in the physical store.

The store will also be showcasing their newest web3 mobile phone called “Saga”. The phone is an Android handset made by Solana Labs. The “Solana Mobile Stack” software was recently revealed at NFT NYC. The co-founder and CEO of Solana, Anatoly Yakovenko stated that this is the “beginning of a new era of web3 with mobile-first Android platforms”.

Solana Labs said it is working with other web3 companies to power the ecosystem to build the phone. This will include Magic Eden, which is one of the most popular NFT marketplaces. As well as Phantom, which is a mainstream crypto wallet provider. And lastly, Orca – the decentralized finance platform. The Solana Foundation has apparently already pledged $10 million toward the development of mobile apps on its SMS.

Mythical Games Has Big “Blankos Block Party” Announcement

Mythical Games only just debuted its two new web3 play-to-earn gaming titles earlier this week at NFT NYC. Racing game Nitro Nation – World Tour and digital trading card game Epic Spell Wars: Magic Fight. Both of which are set to be released in 2023.

Mythical has now just announced that their well-known NFT game “Blankos Block Party” will be featured on the Epic Games Store. This will be the second web3 game to be added to the marketplace. Popular publisher Gala Games announced earlier this month at Galaverse in Malta they are releasing the web3 game GRIT, a Wild West-themed shooter, on Epic’s marketplace later this year.

The Epic Games Store is a major platform for digital PC and Mac games, with apparently over 194 million users as of the end of 2021. Blankos Block Party is described as a PC and Mac action game that lets players co-create and interact in vibrant 3D environments. The game uses NFT collectibles to represent user-owned items like unique avatars, inspired by the vinyl toy collectibles. The NFTs can be resold via Blankos’ marketplace. Mythical has said that Blankos has already logged more than a million registered user accounts since its open beta launch in December 2020. The Epic Games Store version of Blankos Block Party will apparently be identical to the existing version.

TIMEPieces and The Sandbox Will Soon Build Together In The Metaverse

The Sandbox is a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands. TIMEPieces is the NFT community initiative from the well known TIME Magazine. TIMEPieces was launched in September 2021, with the aim of developing a community in web3 that benefited from the incredible 100-year legacy and access TIME has established.

The two entities just announced on Twitter a partnership to develop “TIME Square” in the metaverse. This will be TIME’s first-ever destination in the metaverse. TIME Square will be built on TIME’s land in The Sandbox as a destination for convening, art and commerce, inspired by the visual spirit and energy of the iconic neighborhood in New York City.

TIME President Keith Grossman revealed the partnership during The Sandbox event at NFT NYC. He also said that they are actively looking for an architect to design the virtual TIME Square. Stating that their goal is to reimagine the world-renowned cultural center in the metaverse. TIME Square will be an inclusive environment that will provide unique experiences to TIMEPieces holders. The destination will serve the TIMEPieces community by providing virtual access to discussions, events, screenings of TIME Studios projects and educational experiences.
