Web3 Developer Platform Fleek Raises $25 Million In Series A Round Led by Polychain Capital

Fleek is a web3 developer platform. The company just raised $25 million in a Series A round led by crypto-focused venture capital firm Polychain Capital. Other investors in the round included Protocol Labs, Arweave, Coinbase Ventures, Digital Currency Group, North Island Ventures, Distributed Global, The LAO, and Argonautic Ventures.

Fleek’s co-founder and CEO is Harrison Hines. The new capital is supposedly going towards the development and launch of a decentralized content and application delivery network called Fleek Network. The project will be launching in the spring of 2023.

Current CEO, Harrison Hines, stated:

“There are several decentralized storage and data protocols such as Filecoin and Arweave, those protocols share a common problem in that they can’t query the files, data, or content from the networks stored on them. From the consumer side, developers or projects needing a content delivery network can provide content to the Fleek Network. Fleek accelerates that content using a decentralized network of nodes. Consumers prepay for the bandwidth in the native FLK tokens.”

Web3 Metaverse World-Building Platform Mona has Announced Successful Raise

Mona is a web3 metaverse world-building platform and network “built for creators by creators”. The San Francisco-based company just announced the successful raise of $14.6 million to help build out their metaverse platform for 3D creators. The round was co-led by Protocol Labs, Archetype, and Collab+Currency. Other investors include Placeholder, OpenSea Ventures, Polygon Studios, ConsenSys, Venture Reality Fund, and other crypto-native funds and angel investors.

Justin Melillo is the CEO of Mona and has experience working in blockchain, AR, and VR. He previously worked at companies like Magic Leap, Snapchat, and Dreamworks – and has collaborated with artists like Drake, Maroon 5, and Sia. Justin Melillo wants the Mona platform to be a way to build an economy for artists and collectors to meaningfully participate in a “shared digital universe”.

Mona provides a platform and network for creators to build, mint, and sell interactive metaverse worlds as NFTs. The world-building platform is free for anyone to create and access via their web browser. Creators can mint their metaverse worlds on the Ethereum or Polygon blockchains.
