Co-Founders Joe Carnell & Dom Smith also recently revealed that Overlord was selected as one of Spotify’s partners in a new pilot project. These will include an exclusive pilot of their token-enabled playlists and the launch of a holder-curated playlist. 

Overlord’s mission is to invest in and build technology and experiences to onboard the first billion users into Web3. The company is headed up by the team behind the NFT project Creepz. Overlord says it is building a gaming and entertainment ecosystem. They have a game ecosystem at the core, with multiple games in development. Overlord is developing its IP with strategic media partners such as Stoopid Buddy Stoodios & ThreeSixZero.

It also named former Rockstar Games developer Jeronimo Barrera as chairman of its advisory board. VoxPop Games is a relatively new game distribution and development platform, and it uses a peer-to-peer games marketplace with a profit-sharing business model. 

VoxPop primarily caters to independent developers who may not have the marketing budget to pursue traditional advertising as a model. Charles Yu is the Co-Founder and CEO of VoxPop Games which was started in 2019. In 2021 the company joined the F50 Elevate accelerator. The store has been live since March 2022 in beta form and the company hopes to formally launch in early 2023.

Newly appointed Jeronimo Barrera is the former VP of Product development for Rockstar Games. He Helped build it to a $20B company over the course of his 21 years there. Jeronimo has overseen some of Rockstar’s greatest hits, from Red Dead Redemption 2 to Grand Theft Auto 5. 

VoxPop says it “hopes to disrupt the gaming market by creating systems for smaller content creators to prop up one another with peer-to-peer marketing and ad monetization”.
