Action role-playing game Synergy Land migrates from the Solana blockchain to Polygon and Private Playtest June 2nd – June 5th

Synergy Land is described as a “Path of Exile” inspired play-to-earn ARPG game created by experienced web2 triple-A gaming developers and designers. Genopets is partnering with Magic Eden on an Ordinals launchpad drop of limited edition Bitcoin Baby Genopet NFTs.

Genopets is a free-to-play, move-to-earn game built on the Solana blockchain. By using the Genopets app, players can collect steps while walking outside. These steps are then converted into Energy and that Energy can be used to level up their Pet or exchange it for KI tokens. KI tokens are the main currency in Genopets and are used to craft Crystals, upgrade Pets, and maintain Habitats.

The team just announced plans for their next NFT mint – on Bitcoin Ordinals – called Bitcoin Babies. This collection will give Genopets cross-chain functionality and brings the first game utility to Bitcoin NFTs. Officially called Gold Baby Genopet Bitcoin NFTs, these NFTs will also be usable in the Genopets move to earn app.

MoonPay Announced Partnership With Magic Eden To Help Onboard Web2 Gamers

MoonPay has announced a partnership with Magic Eden to help onboard web2 gamers. The partnership allows Magic Eden users to purchase NFTs using debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, among other options. The announcement comes after MoonPay’s recent partnership with LooksRare NFT marketplace.

Magic Eden is a well-known cross-chain NFT platform featuring Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon NFTs. Zhuoxun Yin is currently Chief Operating Officer at Magic Eden. Last year, the company also teamed up with the biggest NFT marketplace in terms of daily active users OpenSea to enable NFT purchases using credit cards.

XP Foundry raises $1.5 million and moves mobile game Rooniverse from Solana to Immutable X.

Rooniverse is a free-to-play “hyper-royale mobile game” featuring creatures battling in player-versus-player game modes. Players can take part in crafting, user-generated content (UGC), and social gameplay. On-chain collectibles are integrated through a fully optional blockchain layer, making the game playable for both traditional and Web3 gamers on iOS, Android, PC, and Mac.

XP Foundry’s engineers and artists have previously worked on games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Game of Thrones, Batman, Call of Duty, The Elder Scrolls, and more. The studio’s co-CEO and game director James Finley is a former director of technology at Unity Studios with over 15 years of experience. Executive producer, James Chung, is a former art director at Electronic Arts and worked on the original Call of Duty team. Germán Palau is currently co-CEO.

XP Foundry recently raised $1.5 million at a $10 million dollar valuation during its pre-seed funding round led by Shima Capital. The studio is backed by Big Brain Holdings, Deep Ventures, Criterion, Double Peak, Snack Club, Magic Eden, 3DGG Labs, Spectre, Citizen Capital, XBorg, Naavik, Battle Arena Gamers Guild, and Stardust. Music Management Simulation Game “Blockstars” Raised $5M Led By Play Ventures

Blockstars was originally called Drivetime and were known for making voice-driven games for people to play in the car. The company recently raised $5 million and changed its name to Blockstars to fit the ever-shifting market demand. Blockstars is described as a music management simulation game built on the Solana blockchain.

The $5 million dollar funding round was raised through a combination of an equity and token financing round led by Play Ventures through its Future Fund. Existing shareholders Makers Fund, Solana, Magic Eden, Merit Circle, and Citizen X also invested.

Niko Vuori is the CEO of Blockstars. In the game, players put together musicians called “Blockstars” who write, record, and release singles. Players then package their greatest hits into albums and put in the time and effort to improve their skills and ultimately work towards the goal of earning enough money to start and upgrade their own.

Winners of various categories of competitions within the game can earn rewards in the form of $ROC, the game’s main token on the Solana blockchain. The token is used for major game actions (such as minting, buying, and selling Blockstars and other in-game NFT assets, as well as determining governance structure).

Solana NFT Marketplace Magic Eden Revealed Their Switch To Optional Royalty Model

Magic Eden is a community-focused marketplace for NFTs that funds its own games through an internal gaming division called Eden Games. Magic Eden raised $130 million in a funding round that valued Magic Eden at $1.6 billion back in June of this year. This was covered previously in a news report by RE3W and GFPs.

The very well known Solana non-fungible token marketplace has just revealed it will be switching to an optional royalty model and said it would waive the 2% platform fee as of October 14th.

The new optional incentivization model will apparently allow the buyer to determine the number of royalties they will pay. While all collections will honor full royalties by default, buyers have the option to decide whether to pay and how much. The transition follows a controversial trend set by other popular NFT marketplaces like X2Y2, which have opted to make royalty payments optional in a bid to attract more users.

The company also announced it is putting $1 million towards a fund to create “better royalty enforcement tools”, and stated that it hopes to experiment with “new models outside of royalties” in the future.
