The partnership will apparently be the first-ever toy line to hit the market with an accompanying metaverse experience. 

The Piñata Smashlings toy line will bring the “Piñataverse” world to life with real-life collectibles and play sets. Toys available on the market in mid-2023 with a Roblox game launching simultaneously to compliment the physical toy experience. Yonatan Raz-Fridman, CEO of Supersocial, said that this strategy is to not only establish a stronger connection with fans but allow fans of the toys to connect and socialize with one another through online play. 

Toikido’s founders including CEO Darran Garnham have a history in the entertainment industry. The company works with Skydance Animation, Netflix, Roblox, Topps, Innersloth, Boneloaf, and VaynderMedia. 

Supersocial raised $5.2 million in September 2021 to make games for the Roblox platform. The Roblox experience has already been in development for a few months at Supersocial and it is set to launch in conjunction with the release of the toys in mid-2023.
