Midnight announces $7.5 million raised in seed funding to build a studio and platform for web3 games. Midnight says its mission is to build games that users want to play but also offer economic value. To achieve this, it’s building a slate of free-to-play and premium games for diverse audiences, with a web3-based “forging” system that creates true interoperability and a robust economy.

Steve Wade is a co-founder and currently the CEO of Midnight. The company was founded in late 2021. Bill Roper is the Chief Creative Officer at Midnight. Its executive team includes acting Chief Product Officer Chris Heatherly.

Games already in development at Midnight include:

– Legion: a 4X MMO

– Next Protectors: a 2D pixel brawler

– At Your Service: a couch co-op title

Immutable is the Sydney, Australian-based company that created Immutable X, the Layer 2 scaling solution on Ethereum. Immutable X has recently added fifteen new web3 games to their collection of blockchain titles and announced other exciting company updates.

As a Layer 2 solution, Immutable X is aiming to lower the costs and speed up the transactions on the Ethereum blockchain network. It also wants to provide greater stability, scalability, and security. Popular and well-known web3 games like Cross the Ages, Delysium, and Ember Sword which were initially developed on Ethereum scaling platform Polygon have ultimately chosen Immutable X as a place to call home.

“Muhammad Ali – The Next Legends” is an upcoming AI powered web3 game being developed in partnership with Altered State Machine (ASM), Muhammad Ali Enterprises and Authentic Brands Group (ABG).

ASM develops web3 artificial intelligence (AI) where owners of NFTs can use the ASM technology to create, train and grow “AI agents”. Each of these agents is unique and built on sets of randomized values. Those values translate into stats in video games. Any single agent can be trained using a machine learning model trainer. The trainers are specific to any Metaverse built to use the ASM platform. The idea is that an NFT owner can train up an agent with stats to play a game. When it’s time to move on from that specific game they can sell them on the open market.

“Muhammad Ali – The Next Legends” is said to be an indie game where players can get involved in the training of their boxers. Players will be able to collect unique NFT boxers, powered by ASM AI tech, train them and set them up in competitions. Then users will have to determine what stats their boxer needs to work on to progress throughout the game. These stats will include agility, endurance, stance, sparring, jabs, hooks and uppercuts.
